INFORMATION ABOUT WORK AND TRAVEL PROGRAM
"Work and Travel" is a cultural inter exchange program meant to reach your educational goals through international cultural contacts. The students are involved in everyday life of the host country through temporary work opportunities.
At the end of the program, the students come back home and they share their American experience with their family and friends. This encourages the American citizens to participate at intercultural and educational programs.
J1 cultural exchange visa program permits foreign university students to work legally in the US during their summer holidays for 3.5-4 months. They will have the same rights as any local employee.

You can work in different fields like hotels ( clerk, front desk, kitchen, office assistant) , resorts ( server, busser, housekeeping, laundry attendant), golf ( golf service attendant, beverage cart server, retail clerk, bellman, front desk/office clerk), restaurant ( server, host, busser), office work( Retail Associate, office assistant) ,theme parks ( crew member), national park (lifeguard,pool attendant, resort worker) , supermarket ( grocery clerk, ice cream sales, cashier), moving companies ( packer, professional mover) and you'll find much more jobs and information at our headquartes.
You can be paid with 7.25$- 14$/ hour, overtime 1.5*rate after 40 hours/week.
If you've been in the USA before and would like to work there again, or if you have a friend who can secure a valid job offer for you or if you contact an American employer directly, you qualify for the SELF-PLACED option, which is more conveniant for you, less expensive. All you have to do is to submit this job offer to us at least 28 days prior to DS2019 start date. Note: according to US legislation, participants cannot work as domestic help (housekeepers, etc.) in American homes. Nor can they work in positions that require them to invest their own money for inventory, such as door-to-door sales. Participants cannot work in jobs that require them to provide patient care.
You can have a second job time permitting and thus you can make more money!
Conditions:
- Full time students in intermediate years at an accredited university.

SENIOR STUDENTS CAN APPLY IF THEY SHOW A FORMAL ACADEMIC LETTER STATING THAT THEY ARE PRE-ENROLLED IN A MASTER DEGREE.

Documents for J1 WT:
- J1 WT online application (full program, Self-placed)
- CV in English, printed and in electronic format
- 1 copy of your passport (the passport has to be valid at least 6 months after the visa expires)
- 1 passport-type photo
- a copy of your ID
- your student card+a copy of your student card (with all your grades written and signed)
- university letter that you are a full time student
- police record
- medical release
- a letter form the passport department stating that you have no interdiction to enter the USA
- copy of your work record or a signed form if you never had one
Embassy documents:
- DS 2019 form
- I 901 form (Sevis tax)
- DS160 form (can be filled in online at our office, if you make an appointment)
- valid passport (old passports too if the case)
- student card (must include all your grades signed by the teachers)
- university letter that you are a full time student
- academic transcript, in stamped envelope
- 1 5X5 photo (USA visa type)
- 140 USD (Embassy fee) which you can pay at any Agro Ind Bank office

Regular Placement - 780 $
Cost includes:
